My name is Pastor Brad Friesen, I moved to Taber, along with my wife Lisa, and our daughter Charity, in 2015. Before our move, I worked in a family business for 30 years in southern Manitoba. In 2010, the Lord impressed upon my heart to surrender my life to full-time service. After many years of preparation, and graduating from Canadian Baptist Bible College, the door was opened to start an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church in Taber, Alberta.
Since the start of Calvary Baptist Church on November 22, 2015, the Lord has done a great work. We have a faithful group of attenders and many outreach ministries, as well as a vibrant missions program. All of these ministries are for the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world in need of hope.
At Calvary Baptist Church the Word of God is our sole authority for faith and practice. You will hear preaching from God's Word in every service, and join in singing of the traditional hymns.
I want to thank you for viewing this site, and want to encourage you to stop by for a visit.
All are Welcome!
Ryan and his wife Martha were married in 2016 and the Lord has blessed them with four wonderful children, Kadence, Brooke, Bennett and Jericho.
Ryan was privileged to grow up hearing the preaching of the Gospel, however it was only after many years of living for self and sin that he finally surrendered and turned to Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour in June of 2015. After this it became clear that God would have him pursue further education to prepare for ministry and he and his family moved to Winkler to enrol in Bible classes at Canadian Baptist Bible College. During the mission’s conference in February of 2019, the Lord confirmed His calling upon his life to be a preacher. Shortly after graduating Bible College in May of 2021 he accepted the invitation to relocate to Taber to be the assistant Pastor, and help in the ministries of Calvary Baptist Church.
“It is our families desire to help Calvary Baptist Church be a bright and shining light in Taber by upholding God’s Word as our sole rule for faith and practice and demonstrating the love of Christ to those around us. We look forward to many years of living in Taber and serving the Lord in our community.”
