Dr. Benny Beckum, beloved Evangelist, is the founder and President of The

Intercessor Ministries, Inc. When his dear wife, Diane, was diagnosed with cancer,

he realized his prayer life was lacking. He rediscovered the “prayer closet,” locked

himself in and began to do serious business with the Lord. Mrs. Diane Beckum

died on July 11, 2001. In the heartache of that loss, Dr. Beckum embraced the

grace of God and the comfort of the Holy Ghost that he found in his prayer closet.

After long hours locked away with the Lord in his closet of prayer, the Lord spoke

to his heart and helped him understand the absolute necessity of prayer and how

woefully lacking most Christians are in this important spiritual discipline. God

ignited his heart with a passion for prayer and forged there a vision for revival –

calling God’s people back to their prayer closets. This was the birth of The

Intercessor Ministries. National and regional prayer conferences, The Intercessor

Magazine, Prayer for Revival a textbook for Bible colleges on the subject of

prayer, and forty-eight week long prayer revivals every year are a few of the ways

Dr. Beckum is being used of God to call us back into our prayer closets.

In 2015 Dr. Beckum was married to Jeannette. Together they travel to prayer

revivals all over the United States and foreign countries. He also continues to

preach on many college campuses and is continuing to write books in hopes that

fellow Christians would gain a deeper understanding and awareness of God in

every aspect of their lives.
